  • Mckenzie Hall?

Quick question, and wondering if someone can help.

I've just received a call from BT text message delivery service, relaying a text message asking me to contact a Philip Mckenzie. The message gave a phone number to contact [which I refuse to do as a] wasn't sure if it was one of those hoax things that charges you a fortune and b] if they want me they'll get back in touch - by letter if it's legit]. The message also gave a website as an alternative [http://www.mackenziehall.co.uk] and a reference number for me to quote.

I've checked the the website whenthe name rang a bell - thoughd I'd heard of them on here, but I can't log into the account area with the reference I was given.

My query is double barrelled - a] why would they contact me by text message to a landline [is it just a scam trying to get details from me?] - surely they'd contact me in writing, and b] I've never had any dealings with Mackenzie Hall [one debt is being paid in regular installments to Iqor Debt Recovery [aka Alliance & Leicester] and I haven't heard from my Great Universal debt in over a year - since the recovery agents couldn't provide information requested under the CCA] so don't know how they'd have my details.

Not sure if any of this makes any sense - I know I ramble alot! lol.....but any help would be appreciated.

    Cheers

    Re: Mckenzie Hall?

File anything from these "people" under I as they specialise in debts that are completely unenforceable and statute barred.

IF they can be bithered to write to you then we'll deal with them, maybe, if we can be bothered

Cheers Ben - was hoping you'd be around cos I've just been reading your thoughts on MrsSkints thread lol. I'll be back.....if I ever do get a letter then lol

At a guess then, I'd say it's for the Great Universal debt, where 2 DCAs failed to produce the requested CCA and the default I had on my credit file magically disappeared.

The statute barred thing - is it 6 years from the original date you went into debt, or 6 years from the date of your last payment [whether it be to the original creditor or the DCA]?

I'll be back.....if I ever do get a letter then lol

        Re: Mckenzie Hall?

Statute barred is from your last acknowledgement either by payment or admission.

My business line keeps getting these same messages. I searched for them online and found there seem to be thousands of complaints and they have even been subjected to an inspection and ordered to clean up their act or lose their licence. They have made some improvements but not enough. What really annoys me is that we keep getting this message on our business line and it never says who it is for or what it is about.

The message left for me never said who it was for either Karada - I have received a letter from them today tho, so I'm going to pick up my old thread, to which I've found out this definately relates.

I'm getting these messages left (text) via BT 1571 Service too....
... never heard of them... and as fa as I'm aware am not in any form of debt... certainly no-one (that Im aware of ) has written to me to inform of my financial troubles.

should this be ignored then?... is that the general consensus?

                  Re: Mckenzie Hall?

Until they can be bothered to actually send you a LETTER demonstrating their lawful ability to collect on any debt, then feel free to ignore them.

                  They soon get bored
