  • credit account on CRF from Caboot

    Hi All,

I had Barclay card in 2004 which was defaulted around 2009. it was showing as settled earlier, recent crf shows debt assigned to CAIS memeber (cabot). last year when i applied mortgage i found this out with lender it was not showing on experian, lender mentioned me about call credit when i requested the file i can see the debt as active from cabot , equifax also shows as active and up to date. Its not shown as Default.

I sent a SAR request to Cabot but they replied as saying they dont have any CC with them and debt is not enforceable but they refusing to remove it from CRF, i have my next letter which is asking to remove the the entry from CRF ( i found it on other forums) so is it worth sending letters to get this removed. if i negotiate and pay 20% will they clear it from file does it help me to secure mortgage. attached screenshot of CRF Please guide me.

What payments have you made to this debt since 2009?

Do you still have the DN from 2009 or a record of the credit file showing a default

              Hi Warwick65,

Original lender marked the debt as settled and assigned to CAIS member cabot, cabot showing it as active account (DMP). no default registered from cabot.
