    Hi all
    returned my car under vt paid £190 for collection,the company which collected it drove away after giving it a once over got a sheet with damage to one spoke on one wheel and a mark on rear bumper,it been appraised by manheim who have stated
    1. damage to front bumper( no damage when it left here)
    2. damage to alloy
    3. rust inside rear door closures (must be small as i never noticed it )
    4 . only one key returned (car came with one key only)
    total cost £990.00

    do i have to pay this not signed any forms to say i would

    I guess you could request evidence of the rust. It's not likely that it appeared between leaving yours and arriving at theirs. I would also argue that any rust on the bodywork is not really your responsibility, and is fair for the age of the vehicle (even although we do not know the age of the vehicle). You are only required to keep the vehicle in as good a condition as a reasonable person would, and rust is not evidence of a breach of this.

    However, you do have a signed document highlight the damage to the vehicle upon collection by their agent, and so I would use that to fight the case. And argue the point that the car came with only one key, and so you are not required to return it in a better condition than when you received it.

        Thanks for the reply It was 9 year old range rover,never noticed any rust though.phoned them and asked for proof of damages and rust

          had a call today saying if i dont pay by end of month it will be transferred to debt recovery company,
