Hi
My partner parked her car in a car park that required her to type in her registration. Unfortunately she must have mistyped it as 26 days later she received a Parking Charge Notice from Civil Enforcement. We assume that it was due to mistyping the registration as the ANPR cameras picked her car up. By this time the parking ticked had been thrown away although she does have a witness who saw her putting money into the ticket machine.
I appealed to CEL and surprise surprise it was rejected very quickly. But we do now have the POPLA verification code which we need to use by 25th July. I know this is short notice but I had been expecting our appeal to be entered by Private Parking Appeals Ltd but they appear to be a scam (paid them the money and never had a reply).
I know that there are many template letters on here and elsewhere for the appeal but I have found it very difficult to find one that is based on the incorrect typing of the registration. A £100 fine for doing this seems unjust particularly as I believe the fine is supposed to represent the loss to the private landowner.
I know it is short notice but can anyone help? I found this website as someone had exactly the same problem in the same car park but they have not finished the thread!
Thanks and I appreciate any help or advice.
