Hi guys,
Just wanted to ask a question regarding a Voluntary Termination with regards to the HP agreement on my car.
To give you a quick breakdown of my situation - my car is a 2008 BMW 320d M-Sport that has done roughly 105,000k miles and I'm currently in a bit of a jam and I can't afford it anymore. It's currently in the garage getting an MOT. In total, the repair work that needs done is:
For the MOT
- Rear discs, pads and shoes
- Front shocks
- Window washer jet repair
Total = £733.
Out with the MOT (but still needing done very soon)
- 2 Glow plugs need changing
- Rocker cover leaking oil
- New turbo needed
Total = £2,000
Other than that, it's aesthetically spot on. Now, my worry is that if I invoke a VT would I be hit with a 2k bill for the non-MOT repairs as well? I'm sure they'll try (if they spot them). Would this not be technically normal wear and tear for a car of this age?
The reason I'm not selling it privately is that the price I'd get for it I doubt would cover the remaining balance. I'm holding off on this plan as a last resort.
