  • DVLA Error

Ok here goes, on the 4th of May my car was clamped whilst husband was on the school run, traffic warden citing the vehicle was untaxed.
    * tax is on monthly d/d..
Called dvla who advised me they had notification in Feb 17 that my car was exported out of the country in Nov 16. And that because of this they had cancelled my d/d.
    * making me drive illegally for 3m..
Had to pay 6m tax upfront in order to get clamp released, £100 to NCS for the clamp release itself.
    Husband had to taxi home.
After an investigation (10 day resolution) was raised same day nothing has happened.
I call weekly but am unable to speak to relevant dept..notes are passed through.. have filled out the complaint section in the dvla site only to receive a response saying if I want to make a complaint write somewhere else.
Now I am receiving demands for £119, a further charge for having an untaxed vehicle which I am returning advising them to seek contact with DVLA complaints dept as I was only untaxed due to dvla error.
Literally banging my head against a brick wall any advice?

    Greatly appreciated! 😗

    Step 2

If you’ve been through Step 1 and you feel that your complaint hasn’t been resolved, write to Oliver Morley, our Chief Executive, who will make sure your case is reviewed and responded to within 10 working days.
    Write to:
    Chief Executive’s Office
    DVLA
    Swansea

You can also email our Chief Executive’s office. Please don’t contact them with general enquiries, or if you haven’t yet made a formal complaint. If this happens, your complaint or enquiry will be dealt with or answered by the relevant department.
