    Hi new to site hope I am doing this correctly on my recent assessment with atos I was asked to spell the word WORLD backwards and to subtract seven from one hundred and keep subtracting seven does anyone know why these were asked both me and my wife couldn't understand why this was relevant thank you in advance Deano

    Hi and welcome

    This sounds like part of a cognitive test using memory skills about spelling and maths.
    Whether or not it has any place in a PIP assessment will depend on each individual's circumstances and reason for claiming.
    Whether or not any particuar ATOS assessor is competent to test a claimant's cognitive skills is yet another question!

        Remember if they reject your claim and it goes to mandatory reconsideration then it will most likely be refused. This is because DWP staff are required to refuse 80 percent of mandatory reconsideration.
