    so acknowledge to-day on line then defence in by 2nd July??? no rush as we try and send it in a day before as to not allow them time to trash any defence o.k.?

                  you have 14 days from the issue date to acknowledge the claim (online via mcol is easier )

                    A CCA request via ss77-79 CCA 1974 is sent to the creditor.
                    s189 of the Act identifies the creditor as the assignee if applicable.
                    The PoC identifies the assignee as the Claimant.
                    Ergo, CCA request to Claimant.

                          I have received a response from arrow to cca request.(saying that collection is suspended pending further information. Restons haven't replied. Should I wait for Restons or consider defence statement now ???? All advice much appreciated

                          Unless you specifically agree an extension with Restons you should ensure you submit your defence before the 2nd July.

                            I would proceed preparing your defence and stick to the court timetable. Often Arrow have noooooooo idea what's going on with the court claim and the 'put it on hold' letter is a standard template.
