  • 50JL - Performing a prohibited turn (no left turn)

    Hi all,

I would very appreciate some advice on how to proceed with this PCN, 50JL Performing a prohibited turn (no left turn). Here are both sides of PCN scans. The number plate is barely readable on the right infratred photograph on PCN. There are four days between 'contravention date' and 'date of notice' and almost a week between 'date of notice' and today.

There is online video available showing the sign on one side on the road (there is no that sign on another side if it is important) and a car turning left however it is low quality so the number plate is not visible. The video does not show my car approaching the sign.

    Questions:
    1. Are there any technicalities I can challenge this PCN with?
    2. If I challenge the PCN will I be forced to pay the increased charge or will they hold the discounted rate?
    3. I will certainly require the council to produce to me a copy of the relevant Traffic Regulation Order/Traffic Management Order relating to the applicable prohibition but I assume it will take 20 days under the FOIA. Can I request to extend the appeal deadline until the evidence is provided?
    4. Are there any appeal templates available anywhere?

    Thank you.

Oops, that post was intended for Motoring&Parking directory. Could an administrator please move it there?

You have left your registration number unredacted 2nd line of PCN.

Can the administrator please move this question to motoring directory?

I have just received the exact same PCN with the same photo but with my car from Ealing Council. They love a cash cow clearly.
