  • Working Tax credit overpayment

please help the below is a short outline of the problems I have been dealing with.

Working tax credit overpayment for Years 2014/15 and 2015/16
    · Started receiving letters of an overpayment in 2015
    · I was aware of an overpayment in year 2014/15
    · Called WTC to reduce my payments in 2014/15, as I didn’t want to owe money
    · In tax year 2015/16, I stopped WTC for the recovery of overpayment in tax year 2014/15
    · From 5/4/2015 to 14/5/2015 I received weekly payments of £64.59 and 1 payment of £65.60 for WTC and CTC, totalling £ 388.55
    · From 24/05/2015 I only received CTC as I stopped WTC so recovery of overpayments could be recuperated, these payments stopped on 2/7/2015 as my child left college which I inform HMRC and payments stopped.
    · In tax year 2015/16 my totalling CTC payments were £317.
    · The total payments for the tax year 2015/16 totally £705.55. but have been told me that I was overpaid by £812.55
    · I paid back a totally of £862.55, which I thought was for the overpayment in the tax year 2014/15.
    · The totalling overpayment according to HMRC is over £1600

I have just finished all payments for what I thought was the 2014/15 overpayment, lesss than a month later I received notice to pay the overpayment in 2014/15.
