• Warm Home Discount

I popped out earlier to put £10 on my electric key meter (we were running low at just over £1 on there) ... get back, put the key in and the balance now shows £150+ :0

Is this because we were approved the discount??

We've had no letters saying we were approved, nothing! Last year they sent us a voucher through the post (that we had to take to a certain shop to use), have they changed that??

1. What you'll get

You could get £140 off your electricity bill under the Warm Home Discount Scheme.
The money isn’t paid to you - it’s a one-off discount on your electricity bill between October and April.

thanks enaid ... but last year it was a voucher that you had to add to your key yourself (at a specific shop). Have they decided to just add it to the meter this year (and if so why)?

Doesn't say but as a pre paid you wont get a bill to pay as such just a statement? so they will knock it off your bill or as I think with you add it to your meter.

Well that was a nice suprise for you, think I'd probably have gone back to the shop to check they hadn't put the wrong number in lol. It'd be better if the electric co would actually let you know you'd been awarded the warm home discount, could be a bit concerning for people.

Maybe worth a call to your provider as we know they all have their own rules.

I dont get it but OVO have this on it

How will I know if I've been successful?

Once you've applied, we'll email you within 4 weeks to tell you you whether your application's been successful or not.
If you're successful, some time between December and March (Core group)/ May (Broader group) you'll see a credit of £140 added to your account balance, or on your meter

postie's not been yet today, so I'll be waiting to see if anything turns up today I've checked the receipt and it definitely says £10.
