  • Advantis Client DVLA relation to outstanding business !!!

Had a letter this morning from the company this morning and phoned straight away.

Its about late tax and MOT ... This was not correct in the first instance as my husband is an MOT tester and has the reminder facility.

They asked me lots of personal questions and it refers to late payment of taxing a vehicle I no longer own and haven't since August last year.. The late payment refers to October last year

Log book was sent off for change of keeper immediately and heard nothing more.

I sold on eBay so may be able to find proof of me selling the vehicle at the right time, the guy on the end of the phone then got very aggressive saying that wasn't enough and the onus is on me to prove that I updated the DVLA records, which I can't I sent the log book off in the post using a stamp.

Not sure what to do now, I don't owe anyone anything... don't even have a credit card and my vehicle is always taxed monthly on DD.

Could someone advise what I do now . This guy wanted me to pay 80.00 there and then which I refused.

At no time DVLA informed me of anything. Apparently the tax due was late by one day obviously by the new owner but the records must still show me as the registered keeper.

I thought now the V5 was not proof of ownership , just proof of where the vehicle lives .
