  • Old bank loan & Crapbot

This lot have popped up looking for the balance of an old loan that I had with a bank several years ago. I'd been paying a reduced amount and then CC'd (77/78) them about the agreement, called it into dispute and then stopped paying. I don't recall any letter of assignment but Cabot has attached a 'reconstituted from original' document of assignment.

I'm going to have to check all the old paperwork. In the meantime, I guess the next step is to CC Cabot for the agreement. It's been many years since I've done this so have there been any developments or alterations to legislature that I should be aware of? BTW, the account is not SB'd.

It's a good idea to SAR the original creditor; you never know what might fall out when you shake that tree!

The original one? Why SAR them? The beef now is with Crapbot.

& Cabot are going to give you all the details?
          I think not!

In which case the original creditor will still hold data on file.

I still don't see the point in SARing the OC. Or am I missing something?

You could be missing an awful lot if you don't SAR them.
                  Your call, though.

Can I SAR them on that account only? I don't fancy the idea of sifting through everything on every account I had with them hitting the mat!

If you give explicit details (account no. etc), they can confine the data to that particular agreement.

How many company names does this outfit have? One letter says CF(UK)Ltd now owns the account and another says CF(Europe)Ltd.

Anyone clear this up? How can two seemingly separate entities own the one account?
