  • Conned out of £160 by Ebay Seller

I stupidly bought a so called haunted piece of jewellery off Ebay back in November.

    This item cost me £160.

I've tried to contact the seller about this item repeatedly asking for a refund and to return the item, but the seller ignores all communication.

I opened a dispute with paypal this week and just got word back they are refusing to support a refund!!

I explained to paypal that there is no communication with this seller, and other Ebayers have been reporting the same as they have had negative feedback.

I feel the seller is a fraud.

    What can I do!?

I'm unemployed so £160 to loose is a lot of money.

Has PayPal explained why they are refusing to support a refund? And did you pay by credit card?

In my fairly extensive experience it's very unusual for eBay/PayPal to side with the seller.

You need to to tell us exactly what steps you took to resolve this so that we can advise what you need to do now.

I explained to paypal I've had zero communication with seller.

Seller has had negative feedback on their account.

        I just dont understand.

        I offered to return item.

Paypal wont say why they wont refund me.

        Been scammed.

So you purchased the item assuming it was a haunted piece of jewellery, and now its not? Or what other reason is there for wanting to return it

Did you check to see whether the seller accepted returns when you purchased the item?

I think that something that is allegedly haunted is a subjective one and I would find it difficult in trying to determining that something could be haunted or not. Do you have any evidence it is not haunted, expert-wise?

Equally, PayPal should really give you a reason why it is has decided against you, simply saying "we are not refunding you would be unreasonable", if of course that is what they said to that effect.

I am going to phone paypal tomorow to find out why they sided against me.

I also going to phone the Financial Ombudsman Service and make a coplaint to them.

They just did not give me any reason why they refused a refund.

Item is not as described, its not haunted in my view and its supposed to enhance your life by things like wining money, of which it hasn't.
