  • Another welcome finance customer....

    Hi everyone,

ive been a long time reader of legal beagles hoping that someone out there may be in the same situation as myself.
    Anyway here goes...

In June 2005 me an my girlfriend (now wife) took out a loan for £20,000 which was secured on my property. We kept up all payments until It was around Christmas time 2007 when I noticed that they hadn't taken that months money. I had recently enquired about PPI and because there WAS a problem they had stopped takin the payments.

It took nearly 12months to sort but when I received my money it was short, what welcome finance had done was deduct 12months payments out of my PPI....? Anyway since then I still haven't paid,so I recently requested a copy of my agreement. The first thing that stands out to me that on my legal charge part of the loan my surname is spelt wrong and my postcode is wrong..

So so if anyone has any ideas( I know it's all a bit weird what's happened) then please throw some ideas my way.

    thanks for reading...

Did they give you any explanation why they stopped taking payments? Secondly, when you requested the agreement, did you do so under s77 Consumer Credit Act 1974?

If so did you send the £1.00 fee to the creditor along with the request?

If they sent the agreement, are you able to post up a redacted copy?

Oh, and yeah the reason they stopped taking the money was because I quizzed them about ppi so they stopped takin the money during there investigation.
