  • VT Excess Mileage

    Currently seeking advise regarding VT.
Used the templates from this forum to date.
Finance company now saying I'm legally bound to pay Excess mileage charges as the are pro-rats and my contract was terminated early (VT).
Any help on how I should respond to this latest demand for payment?

    Re: VT Excess Mileage

The contract has been terminated there fore there is no contract in existence that requires the payment of excess mileage.

Look at some of the other VT cases where this was also a problem that reared its ugly head. I think most just went away but look out for then putting an (incorrect) default against your name

Thanks Ostell but the finance company are insistent that I am legally bound to pay up for Excess mileage costs.
I would be keen to respond to their latest letter, and would like a little advise on what to reply with.

Look at the other VT threads with this problem and the answer lies within the regulations that allow you to VT your car. The law states that if you have paid 50% then terminated then there will be nothing else owed to the creditor. The relevant bits are in other threads.
