    Hi
I hope someone else will help you draft a letter, I'm sure the council will understand and it will just generate an overpayment to arrange to be repaid, that's all.
I really wanted to comment and say I kind of understand your problem with your ear(s).I've been off sick for four months now with severe ear pain and can't bear certain noise. It makes me dizzy so I can't go out alone and I've collapsed & been in hospital.ENT are doing a ct scan of my ear but have also referred me to neurology.I really sympathise with you because its constant(painkillers take the edge off it ) & I get so down about it.I have had it since April but took months to get my referral to ENT. I just want to be back to normal and it's exhausting.
I assume the doctors have said there's nothing more they can do? Could you ask them to refer you to a homeopathic doctor? You would be amazed at what they can do- they would treat all your symptoms as a whole.
Take care and enjoy Christmas without worrying about the council. They deal with real system cheats all the time and will be able to tell you aren't one xx

      Hi tracy and welcome,
I am also unable to help you draft a letter but maybe I can offer some information that may be helpful.
Your local authority will run a scheme Council tax support and discounts all this needs is a letter from your GP or specialist to confirm your condition.
If you are exempt and your son is still living with you it would mean single person occupancy and reduce your bill by 25%
If you were exempt and your son was classed as a carer he would be disregarded too. info on that HERE
My opinion you should get in touch with your local social services they should have a trained mental health worker. Along with the medical help you are receiving and practical help from a social worker your world may not be as dark as it is right now.
Hoping all works out for you, am sure someone else will be along to offer more/better advice soon, take care.
