So you haven't been making any payments for those 6 years? When was the last date that you made a payment? It could be Welcome looking to see if you still exist. You must not admit to them that you acknowledge the debt.

        Good morning Rick,

Do you know when the account was defaulted and/or when the last payment was made?

The PPI matter is separate from the actual debt.

What type of account was it, loan, secured loan, HP motor finance, how much is owed?

Can you post a copy of the letter here please after removing your name and address and the account number?

Are you saying that Welcome has only just defaulted the account?

I would send Welcome a request under the provisions of the Consumer Credit Act `1974 for a copy of the agreement for the loan, there is a template in the green box at the top of the " court claim " forum.

Use a postal order for the £1.00 statutory fee and mark it" for statutory fee only".

              Re: welcome finance

It's entirely possible that no default has been issued. There were thousands of accounts which were hidden away when not paying . This was to inflate the share price. This is part of the action which destroyed Welcome finance. It may be the account is about to be sold in which case a new default will have been issued.
If you are unlucky they will find the original agreement.
Did you claim on the PPI?
