  • Partial miss sold ppi complaint - m and s

I have an ongoing PPI claim with the fos for which my employment circs changed (employed to self employed) at the time I updated m and s and said I wanted to cancel as I didn't think I would be covered, they said I was. Unfortunately, a claim needed to be made and advised by m and s unable to make a claim as self employed! This resulted in arrears and having to go on a debt management programme. M and s have offered a settlement, but refused this as no interest or charges, under guidance with the fos. Accounts reconstructed with and without ppi and fos confirmed today that interest does not have to be applied when on a partial miss sold policy - is this correct? Asked them about the charges incurred and the fos advised only if due to result of ppi, which I said yes, because couldn't claim- going round in circles!! Also have second complaint with m and s on the advice of fos, about the administration of policy, still awaiting response on this as now gone over 8 week timeline as per fca. Fos due to come back to me tomorrow but saying they feel payment offered is fair (just refund of premiums from time when circs changed to when it was cancelled due to going on Dm)

    Thoughts would be appreciated.
