Yes. This has sat on my file as a default and has already impacted on my credit file. I'm unsure whether to sit it out, make an offer to pay or just challenge it.

What's the default date on the credit file?

Then I'm afraid it will stay on your CRA file for six years from that date whether you pay it or not i.e. until Nov 2017.

However a CCJ will be recorded as 2016 (if it happens this year and you don't pay it within 28 days) and that would remain until 2022.

As ridiculous at it sounds, what should I do?
Make an offer to settle? Ignore them and see what they do? Challenge it?
Could it be threats with no substance?

Morning all.

I'm hoping for one more batch of help from you lovely people.
Today I've a letter with the CCA attached again saying they believe it is enforceable and giving me 14 days to explain why I think it's not before they take advice from their clients.

I still cannot read the T's and C's so am happy to explain that.

At this point what are my realistic options.The debt is £388. Is it worth hanging on and telling them the document is not legible? Shall I offer them something like half to clear the debt but acknowledging it or shall I wait to see if it goes further.

Genuinely appreciate all your advice.

For such a small amount, personally, I think I'd get it settled off - they only have to retype the T&C's or get a clearer copy and you'd potentially be liable for the full amount or get the CCJ. SO if you can use the illegibility issue to encourage a 50% f&f settlement in the interests of bringing this to a close without court and saving time/costs etc..... then it might be an idea xxx Just my opinion though.

Certainly not easily legible in all parts.

Is this all you have been sent? Is there any thing on the reverse?
