  • Voluntary Termination & Gap insurance

Hi there, looking for some help.
Took a Fiat 500 on pcp in April 2013 & this is due to end in April 2017. Car is still in good condition & within mileage.
I'm about to VT my car however when I phoned up FCA automotive they advised I would have to pay £100 for GAP insurance! I've looked at my agreement and this was included in my monthly price.
I've had a look at the posts on here, and am I right in thinking I don't need to pay this? Should I refer to this in my initial letter to the finance company or should I wait?

I've not yet sent the letter to the finance company advising them I want to voluntary terminate. Just wanted to check on here first.

Well, if its included in the total amount payable then it does not amount to a separate payment and so you could argue that it falls within the definition of 'total price' set out under the CCA and so you only need to pay half.
If you have a question about the voluntary termination process, please read this guide first, as it should have all the answers you need. Please do not hijack another person's thread as I will not respond to you
