  • Estate Accounts problem

Hi, I'm the executor for my late fathers will. I appointed a solicitor to deal with the matter. They were great up until the house was sold. Since then they have been at best incompetent.
HMRC disputed the property valuation so that meant that an initial payment was made in early December.
The final dispersal was eventually made in March. Since then I've been trying to get the estate accounts sent to me, I've not signed them off. I've been trying to get them for the past 6 weeks with no luck. Not sure what my options are from here, do I just have to sit and wait?
    Thanks for any help offered.

Is this a small firm of solicitors, or even an independent one? I would write to them with a formal complaint, you should also complain to the SRA about the solicitors conduct in the matter and make reference to that in the letter. That should hopefully kickstart things, but if not you can bring a complaint to the legal ombudsman if you are still unsatisfied
If you have a question about the voluntary termination process, please read this guide first, as it should have all the answers you need. Please do not hijack another person's thread as I will not respond to you
