One further question, Fine101
Did this heinous crime take place in NI?

yes Belfast city center. i seen an article in the Belfast telegraph regarding a similar fine. It doesn't give the outcome but I did drop him a message on twitter. I assume given his status the fine was waived or maybe he paid up.

In NI they can only 'chase' the driver for civil private parking claims.
If they chasing you as the registered keeper, there is no transfer of liability from driver to the RK.
So don't 'out' the person who was driving. (Even if the 2 are in fact one & the same person)

If it were me I'd just ignore it.

Same as Fine101. Have received many letters regarding parking fine in Belfast city centre and have just today received a letter from Gladstone solicitors. I haven't made contact at all or responded to any letters. Do you advise sitting tight and hoping this goes away?

If this is NI AND the driver has not been identified THEN just ignore.
