• "I Think I Have Just Beaten Cabot Financial"

Good afternoon everyone on the forum, thanks to the help from mystery1 & others on this forum i think i have just beaten Cabot Financial in The Aberdeen Sheriff Court this morning in regards to an old Halifax Credit card debt for around £8,500.00. The Sheriff at this mornings Options hearing granted my motion to dismiss the case against me & with a decree of Absolvitor & expenses in my favor. Thank you everyone for your great help & understanding whilst helping a novice through the courts procedures. Very , very much appreciated.

Regards.

Sean.

Congratulation! Well done :beagle:
"Although scalar fields are Lorentz scalars, they may transform nontrivially under other symmetries, such as flavour or isospin. For example, the pion is invariant under the restricted Lorentz group, but is an isospin triplet (meaning it transforms like a three component vector under the SU(2) isospin symmetry). Furthermore, it picks up a negative phase under parity inversion, so it transforms nontrivially under the full Lorentz group; such particles are called pseudoscalar rather than scalar. Most mesons are pseudoscalar particles." (finally explained to a captivated Celestine by Professor Brian Cox on Wednesday 27th June 2012 )

Thank you.

But a huge thank you to you all on this forum, it just brings home to you the need for such forums to help the ordinary person through the legal process.

Congratulations to you and pat yourself on the back for having the ‘whotsits’ to fight this. I totally agree that this site is outstanding and am constantly in awe of the clever Beagles who give their time and advice freely, 24/7 and we never even know their real names. And when you think of the cretins on the new year’s honours list……..Even the ones working for charitable services are Chair people or CEO’s and getting well paid for doing their job. Add them to the sports people with lucrative sponsorship deals and the media who*es, aging musicians and actors who left the country when the income tax went up and what are you left with?
On here people really, really make a difference and I just wish they could be rewarded or at least recognised for all the good they do, day in, day out.

Thank You mystery1.

After receiving Cabots letter yesterday stating they intended to request the court to dismiss i thought it was worth a stab at putting in a motion to request a decree of absolvitor, im glad it turned out the way it has, just hope they are not successful if they do try to appeal it, not sure how long they have to do this. Their legal representative looked a little caught unaware.

Yes, i would have really struggled if it had not been for this forum & the likes of mystery1, I can see easily why so many people dealing with these debt collection agencies can feel intimidated & accept their fate. It's great to see so many give up so much time & effort in helping people through difficult situations.

Lol, I almost broke into tears myself, i must have looked a real plonker skipping down that court room afterwards lol.

It most certainly is Mat6028, best thing is, the forum truly helps without judging you, at times in all our lives we do get into trouble & make mistakes, it's just nice to see some still like to help others regardless.

Well done....we are defending an action against them for a client atm in another Sheriff Court. It would be interesting to share your experience.

The vast majority of people on the honours list are actually average citizens doing their job, or giving up their to help others - like here!
It's just that those people don't make the headlines so you only hear about the 'cretins' as you put it.

Good idea.
We know the opinions (I'm being circumspect re the word 'advice) given by posters (Amethyst, Nem, Mystery, & many others) is sound, but it would be interesting to hear how the court case went.

I understand what you are saying but I make a point of reading the official list (Birthday and New Year) and it makes depressing reading –totally agree that some are worthy recipients but most are just receiving an A-kissing from the government. They compile the list and then hand it to HM I’m afraid. Just good to know that people like the L Brs are here to pick up the real people in need and get them through some very tough days without expecting any reward or accolades.
