Hi First timer here !!
I have the same problem ,i had a car load with rfs and i stopped paying them around 07 2007.Now i that i am trying to sort my life out and had a look at my credit file ,there were two entries one for rfs and one for rci

I called rci and hbos and gave them my car number plate and my agreement number and they said they do not have any record of this agreement.

The guy in HBOs even told me that some accounts have not been transfered over properly and said a person called stephen is dealing with old rfs agreements.I eve called him and he gave me the number of rci .I called rci and the ssame ,they have no record of my agreement .

Can any one tell me that if they do not have any details on me then can i send them a letter telling them to remove the default from my file .

by the way i still have the car and there is no attemp by any one this year to get it off me .please hlp

Can you give a bit of background into why you stopped your payments?
Did you hear anything from them when you did this?

My first action would be to find out if they have any info on the agreeements.
I know they said they didn't on the phone, but dont believe anything verbal as there is no backing it up.

Firstly send a CCA request to RCI Financial Services, this way they have a legal requirement to provide a copy of the agreement within a timescale.
If they cannot produce this, then we can move onto getting the deafults removed.

As all dealings with RFS Ltd (run by HBos) have been passed over to RCI Financial, send all correspondance to RCI

Once you have recieved a response to your CCA request, or not as the case may be, then we can proceed to the removal of the info on your credit File
