Hi guys I'm new to this forum so sorry if this goes horribly wrong but I need some advice......

Last week I received a letter from Capital Resolve in the post. It was addressed to me. The content of this letter was...

    'Dear Miss Nurse,

We have been trying to contact you regarding a financial matter. We have been given your address by a credit reference agency. Please phone us before 1st December regarding this matter.

    Capital resolve'

My issue is that, in January last year, I was discharged from a debt relief order. All of my debts were included in the DRO so I am debt free. I have a sub-prime CC with a £200 limit, all paid and up to date.

This company have not provided a creditor, an amount or a reference number. The above is literally all the letter said.
Today I received an email with the same content, I have no idea where they got this (although I have had the same email address for about 14 years).

I have had conflicting advice about how to deal with this.....on another forum I was advised not to contact them but also to send a prove it letter I'm not sure how I can do that when there are no details for me to tell them to prove.

Part of me wants to phone the to tell them to do one but then I know that, if I engage with them in any way, it will be nigh on impossible to get rid of them (and I really don't have the time or inclination!)

    What should I do?

    Re: Capital Resolve

You could always wait for them to write to you with details of the debt and then send a "prove it" letter :noidea:

It's best to keep all contact with DCAs in writing xx
Debt is like any other trap, easy enough to get into, but hard enough to get out of.

It doesn't matter where your journey begins, so long as you begin it...

      Do Not phone this mob.
Often they are used by DCA's and debt purchasers to trace debtors.
Used to called First Credit Management.
      Sole Director Bernard Phillips.
The best way to deal with this is to put the letter and a screen print of the e-mail in a safe
place. Wait until Capital Resolve states what it's chasing and why.

Been known for " dirty tricks " in the past with statute barred and ex DRO and BR debts.

Check your credit files to see if any entries have been made or changed you can use Noddle it's free online.
