  • Virgin Media breach of contract and I get a cancellation charge!!!

I am soon to be moving house to a new build property. Phoned Virgin CS today to inform them of the move and they said the Virgin Cables do not cover the area and have hit me with a £240 cancellation charge!!!

I want to stay with VM and it is not my fault there are no cables at the new address.

If I do not pay the stupid charge then it will inevitably go into the collections process and that will mess up my credit rating...

Need urgent advice. My hunch is I should pay the fee and then take it through small claims to get it back.

Any advice would be very very appreciated.

    Good morning Elsa,
Have you been dealing with customer (dis ) service over this, if so you are unlikely
to get ant resolution on this, the company " script " does not allow them to make any
    decisions.

I suggest to make a Formal Complaint look up the name of the MD/CEO and send the complaint
    personally addressed to that person.

I agree their attitude is unreasonable.
