We just received a letter from Property Debt Collection Ltd (PDT) regarding outstanding 2014 -2015 property service charge on 29 October 2015. Due to my daughter went to abroad to work the property was rent out and we did not received any service charge statement or payment remind until a new tenant forwarded this letter to us. According to the letter we have amount of £1796 outstanding service charge and asked us to within 14 days. The letter is dated on 21 September 2015.

When we called to PDT we were told that our case has gone to country court process and the charge has increased to £2701 which including £905 legal fees. We are willing to pay and asked to send the detailed breakdown legal fees and statement to us than we can pay. The promised to send over the email straight way, but they did not.

Later we called their manager asking whether our case has actually gone into the court process? If not we will pay the full amount service charge due and ask them to stop the court process, if our case has gone into the court process than we asked them to give us court name and case number as well as detailed court process fee incurred. Their manager refused to give court name and insist that we have to pay the whole £2701 to end the case. So far we have not received any letter or notice from any court.

Later we called their complaint department, their staff promised that one of their legal team would call us back on Friday. But again no body call us back.

PDC does not send us detailed breakdown legal fees and service charge statement. They do not tell us the court name and case claim number. What they ask us is just to pay the whole £2701 without sending detailed cost. We told them that if they show us the actual incurred the legal fees we will pay. But we just getting no way. Any advice or suggestion are welcome
