  • Smart Parking fine help

Hi. My daughter (honest!) overstayed on a car park controlled by smart parking. She paid for 2 hours but overstayed by 52 mins. She was hit with a fine for £100 reduced to £60 if paid in 28 days. She appealed on the grounds that she'd paid for 2 hours so the fine seemed excessive and she offered to pay £20 (a 1/3 of the fine for a 1/3 of the time unpaid). It's been rejected and she's been given a verification code if she wants to take it to POPLA. What should she now do??

Thanks. Have emailed Kati to post the PCN pic. If the quality isn't good enough I'll need to scan tomorrow, and will also scan the letter rejecting the appeal.

Whilst Beavis lost in the supreme court i see no real reason to remove the penalty and unfairness arguments until Popla rule on them.

That explains entering a popla appeal quite well.

You only get one shot so enter everything at once. You may need to convert to pdf, i'm not sure on that.
