  • Blemain help needed

    Hi
Not sure what my next step with Blemain should be. I've been in dispute with them re charges to a secured loan I had with them (loan was £5000), the loan was paid off some time ago ( had a few late payments)
    They want around
£2000 in charges form me though, I finally managed to get a breakdown of everything applied to my account when they addressed my complaint, they have rejected my complaints (they did offer a reduction of £300)
I made the mistake of having many of my dealings with them on the phone (they are now denying things they have told me on the phone)
Can anyone advise what my next step should be?

    Thanks

    Good morning welcome to LB,

I'm afraid you have fallen in to one of the most common traps when dealing with Blemain and that's telephoning them, anything of benefit to you mentioned in a call will be denied later on.

Was you complaint made on a " Formal Complaint " basis or under Blemains Complaints Procedures? Have you been told the letter and offer of £300 reduction was their " Final Response"?

Blemain are in the High Court on 11th and 12th October , i know this as i am the fee earner running the HC case. We are challenging the charges for fairness, so it should be clarified shortly whether their charges are fair or as we believe unfair.

Blemain have told me it's a final offer, this is why I'm not sure how to proceed. Do i bother complaining to the FOS ?

Yes Now you have a final response it will be easier to get the FOS to take notice, don't lose the opportunity.

Blemain have pretty much invited me to complain to the FOS if i'm not happy so they must be confident? I'm struggling to make sense of the paperwork they have sent me re the charges applied to my account.
What charges am I able to try and claim back (if any) ?
