But if you are direct in Youtube-should be ok--which ones are you having trouble with & I'll have a look as well.

Re: The Queen Sanctuary - dedicated to Queen fans everywhere

I’ve been reading the interviews by Amethyst-very entertaining.

On the same theme, once upon a time, ”in another place”, I was privileged to be interviewed by a good friend, and as it is heavily “Queen oriented”, I thought itmight be of interest to post it here. (slightly edited for this site).

                ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hi Ms Ellie—reporting as ordered, I have taken the liberty of adding to your dialogue (hope you don’t mind).

                THE TURBOMAN INTERVIEW

Turboman, welcome and thank you for joining me on the sofa as my very first guest, I think that we all agree that it’s a pleasure to have you here.

Thank you Ellie, and may I say what an honour it is to be invited.Soon you’ll be as popular as Dame Edna – indeed on her show it is customary to be surrounded in Gladiolas so I thought I’d bring something as well .I looked everywhere for Gladiolas, couldn’t find any, so brought you a few sticks of rhubarb instead.

They are absolutely beautiful – just a correction there Turboman-we don’t want to start off on the wrong foot do we- I AM more popular than Dame Edna.

Oh --Sorry for that indiscretion Ms Ellie!

Turboman, is there another name that I/we can call you?

Ellie - you can call me Turbo. My real name is Incognito, but that user name was already in use, so Tools changed mine to Turbo by deed poll.

Is there a Mrs. Turbo? If so how does she put up with you?

                Yes- there’s a Mrs Turbo – got 2 grown-up children and 2 lovely grandchildren – so I must be a treasure!

                Age?

                Yes!

But see here if you are good at sums (and I know you aren’t)

(need to be on CCS to view)

                Occupation?

I was in IT as you may have gathered by some of my more technical “How to save/use/do…” threads.

I now design and sell things, and draw things. (With Turbocad! Would you believe!)

At present, I’ve recently succeeded in gaining a prestigious contract acting as a PA & Technical Advisor to Bill-K.

                Do you have any pets?

                Yes—

Do you own a car? If so what do you drive?

Yes- I have a rotting 1967 HA Vauxhall Viva which I use for the sympathy angle when I am trying to persuade customers to buy from me.

When they have agreed, I have no qualms and usually push the boat out by taking the contract back to them in my chauffer driven luxury yellow 1970 Austin Allegro ( Turbo-charged of course).

Hobbies? Are you passionate about anything in particular apart from Queen /Freddie Mercury?

                Sport & Tetley’s!

                Yes, I do like Queen

—how did you know that?Your researchers are certainly on the ball this week!

I’m also fairly sophisticated and like Spain and “a night at the opera”. I particularly like Montserrat Cabelle. This is one of my favourite arias:

I’ve noticed that you are busy with several Penalty charges forums do you ever get the time to socialise?

I may have given you the wrong impression re all the penalty charge sites-I only quickly scan the others.Thisis my spiritual home where I post the most, and know most people.

If I may Ellie, I’d like to take this opportunity to thank the owners for this wonderful site, and all the Mods and Administrators for their advice and everlasting patience.

Without this site and others similar, most of us would not have had the knowledge and courage to pursue our claims.

Well said Turbo & I’m sure everyone will agree with you!

Turbo, tell us how you get your entertainment?

You mean besides being on here?

Yes,Yes Turbo – I know I’m entertaining- I meant other than on here.

I’ve got Queen Box of Flicks which has all the videos of every song in Queen’s Greatest Hits Vol 1 & 2 - which we play nightly--

-- except the 2nd Friday in the month when we play “Queen at Wembley”
-- and the 4th Wednesday in the month when we play “Queen Live in Rio”.

Since my recent Barclaycard success, I have used the credit balance to purchase many more copies and given them to friends so when we go round for a beer & wine & barbecues, we can also watch them at their houses as well!

Thank you Barclaycard, your copy is in the post!

Once entered a pub quiz team on-line, but half our team went home at halftime!!

If you were invited to a fancy dress party, who would you go dressed as?

Now, you’re being crafty Ellie—you’re trying to get me to say I would be a certain rock singer aren’t you-- but I’d go as myself -- Turboman

Do you have a Favourite Band/Group that you follow apart from Queen?

I really miss M People now, also like Rod Stewart & Elton John & Neil Young.

I also like Katie Melua for easy listening.

                Recently discovered Jennifer Warnes.

I here that they are at last taking the wraps off X-factor winner Leona Lewis after all the training in America - roll on the UK’s next Celine Deon/Whitney Houston!

Yes Turbo, I’m looking forward to Leona as well.Have you been to a rock concert lately?

Ellie-I’m not fit enough for that!—last show I went to was Paul Simon on his Graceland Tour.I tell a lie—I did go to discuss Excel Macros for the CI spreadies with Bill-K the other day, & he was practicing for his next show:

That’s fantastic Turbo—watched it right to the end - what a talent! You were privileged to be there!

Yes, Bill-K is a brilliant musician! His co-ordination is superb and his facial expressions are from another world!!

Do you consume Alcohol? What is your favourite drink?

                Who doesn’t? Beer.

Any annoying habits that you can share with us?

Well –being turbo-charged - folk tell me I’m hyperactive and won’t stand still--which often results in drinks being spilled!

And finally.............have you, can you tell us about a one particular embarrassing moment that you have experienced?

Mmmm, let’s see now; -- yes – probably the episode in the summer of 1980.

It was a hot summer’s day and we’d all been out shopping in the morning and then had a nice lunch in the precincts. The boys suggested going down to the river, so we meandered down there and spent a pleasant couple of hours on a boat trip and then idly had a coffee and watched some youngsters diving off a platform into the river.

There’s loads of ducks on the river all among the boats and near the weir, so the boys got some bread from one of the kiosks and we went off to feed the ducks.

The riverside is stepped so there are a few instances where the paved riverside rises to the next level by about a couple of feet, and a good place for a seat was just on one of the lower levels, with myself nearest the next tier.

You’re not falling asleep, are you Ellie.

Of course not Turbo-I’m fascinated as to where this is leading.

After a while, a man who had been fishing a few yards further along moved his position nearer to us and we got talking to him.

He was on a daytrip on the train from Manchester and had come by himself for a bit of fishing. He was an engaging bloke and the boys were interested in his fishing gear, and he showed them how to cast out and then let them have a go.

He’d just retired from being a watch repairer and the odd thing (well not odd, lets say unusual) about him were his spectacles. Do you remember those old Benny Hill sketches Ellie?

Yes, I do Turbo – those were the days!

Well, his glasses were just like those Benny wore in his lecherous sketches.

                Like Milk Bottle Bottoms.

The lenses were so thick to take account of his eyesight which had almost gone on account of his detailed work as a watch repairer. Remember, thin lens technology wasn’t around 30 years ago.

After a while, he packed his gear up and started on his packed lunch and sat on the next step up, directly next to me who was on the lower tier. Are you following me Ellie?

                Yes Turbo-carry on!

Well, we all went back to feeding the ducks and this guy joined in and started throwing his bits of sandwiches.

On account of the many boats on the river, there were quite a lot of ducks with disfigured legs which had been damaged by propellers and obviously they were less forceful in getting to the bread first – so we deliberately threw to these ducks which hovered around 15 feet from the bank.

The chap from Manchester also did the same and was leaning over to get a better throw.

The boys shouted to me that there was one with a bad leg about 25 feet away, so it needed a bigger throw. I pulled back my arm for a better throw but unfortunately the chap from Manchester leaned over at the same time.

Oh my God !!!--- Turbo ---- did you push him in?

No Ellie-Worse! Much much worse!!I caught his glasses and threw them 25 feet into the river!!

                !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, how embarrassing was that? The chap stood up and we just managed to stop him falling in—he couldn’t see anything without his glasses.

Well, here we are with a lone pensioner on a daytrip from Manchester, blind as a bat and I’ve thrown his glasses in the river and the boys are rolling all over the floor in giggle-fits!

Bloody hell-we may have to adopt him!! Need to decorate the spare room!!

What are we to do—apart from panic?

We got the youngsters who were diving to come and see if they could find them, it was about 3 feet deep and gooey mud.

They had no luck so we reconciled ourselves for the adoption.

However, word had spread downriver (in fact, word had spread so much that an opportunist beef burger van appeared to feed the watching crowds) and a couple of guys in wetsuits appeared who had been diving around the weir.

                Alleluia!!!

They found them within 5 minutes undamaged and we were able to relax again, and participate in some liquid refreshment to calm ourselves.

Well, there you go Ellie – I remember it as if it was yesterday!

I bet you do Turbo, I bet you do! -

Well, you’ve made me laugh, but that’s all we have time for tonight-I would like to take this opportunity in thanking you for being with me and agreeing to be interviewed on Ellie’s Sofa!!!!

Well, that’s all for tonight folks. Next week I hope to have three shows with more surprise guests from Members and Mods–

But in themeantime I leave you with a song that Turbo has kindly linked for me to portray spirit of my new venture –

I hope you watch it to the very end as it is a truly excellent Fantasy Video--the best I have ever seen!!

see you all later – Bye for now.

                Ellie

And I thought I'd hidden that one.

Anyway, my mate Bill-K got a bit tired of playing them drums for Cadburys so he asked if I could arrange a stand-in for him.

He's really chuffed with this one--LOL
