  • Vanquis bank cold-calling

For a few weeks now, this bank has been calling my land-line number at least twice per day when I'm in the home. It's usually in the mid-morning and just after 7pm. One evening, expecting a relative's 'phone call, I answered the land-line to find I was dealing with them and I briefly told them to stop calling but the calls have continued: one Saturday, a couple of weeks ago, they called ten times that afternoon. They are using two numbers: an 0800 number and an 0208 number. I cannot figure out how they got a hold of this land-line number but that's irrelevant. My number is on the TPS list so why is this happening?

I don't owe them any money or have any accounts with them though occasionally an application form comes through the door for one of their credit cards. It's annoying as it reminds me of the dark days when I did owe the banks money and how they hounded me via the land-line until I learned, via sites such as this one, how to fight back. I swore I would not put up with that behaviour ever again.

I've just had a look at the complaints procedure on the TPS site and it states that my complaint has to relate to a live conversation in which the agent tries to sell me their products or services so I guess I'll have to wait until they call again and then engage them in conversation and ask them to desist. My question is: will they take heed?

Anyone got any experience of this lot?
