I have a drive Happy warranty with a major car sales company that have gone into administration. I only took out this policy 6 months ago and was charged £1800 for 3 years cover even though it was supposed to be £995 for 3 years cover. I just recieved a txt message from the company with I link to a Web site that explained all about the company going into administration and stating that my drive Happy policy is now void and they are not refunding me. Can they get away with charging me £1800 for a service that they can not provide? I think this is very unfair and it's left me feeling very anxious and worried incase the vehicle breaks down as I can't really afford to pay out garage fees. The policy also covered servicing and I now have find the money to pay for services myself and again I find that unfair as I took the policy out to spread those costs out so in a way I've already payed for 3 years worth of servicing so why should I have to pay again?

    Hi Jason

I am afraid you are one of the victims of carcraft.

There are some FAQs about the Drive Happy Plan on the press release here

    http://www.carcraft.co.uk

Sadly there are always many entirely innocent victims when a large company collapses (not least the poor sods that have lost their jobs).

Whilst you can make a claim as an unsecured creditor to the administrators/receivers you may, if you are lucky, some years down the line, get a payout of pennies in the pound.

Afraid the best that can be offered is sympathy.
