  • Help with Court Costs

I recently lost a "crash for cash" type claim in the County Court. At the time I was unable to afford legal advice to help defend the claim and subsequently lost the case . The defendant was awarded £3500 but I was ordered to pay £23,000 costs the defendants solicitors. Obviously I cannot afford to pay this and was quite shocked, I offered to pay all that I could afford and this was turned down by the Judge. As a result of this I have received a letter saying that they are going to force me to sell my home. I have contacted Estate Agents and my property is in negative equity. I'm not sure what to do next, can they make me homeless? These claims are so unfair and I do not believe the defendant was injured near my property. This is causing me a lot of stress and my health is suffering, any help would be greatly appreciated.
