  • Lowell chasing

My partner has recently started receiving letters from Lowell chasing him for a debt to a company called BGL.
He can't recall ever dealing with the company let alone owing them money.
In order for him to find out what this debt is for and if he actually owes it Does he just go down the route of sending a CCA request for more information and evidence reguarding this debt??
    thanks in advance.

A cca would be a start - as would checking his credit report (Noddle is free)

          Could the BGL Leisure??
As Kati says get a CCA request off to Lowell, £1 statutory fee payable, use a cheque or postal order endorsed " For Statutory Fee Only"
Lowell has 12 + 2 Working Days to comply.

Use signed for post check delivery.

Ok, thank you, we will do that. I'm also on another thread as I'm currently going through my own court proceedings with Lowell which was why I knew this would be the best place to seek advice and I'm so greatful for all your responses.
I will do this asap and I will expect some auto response letter in the coming weeks too

BGL is a car insurance group, you may find in the past that you have had car insurance cancelled BGL have a habit of demanding lots of extra charges, when you dispute them they don't argue then some time later Cabot or Lowell will send you a letter also they aren't too choosy on correct details any similar name is likely to get a letter , I have had 3 such letter all of which were not connected to me just blanket mailing in the hope someone coughs up as they tend to be smallish amounts. Definitely do a prove it letter and even if it is yours it unlikely you owe it.

Haha, what's even better is if it is a car insurance company then it definitely can't be his debt at all because my partner hasn't got a UK driving license and has never had one.

                            Re: Lowell chasing

Better late than never, here as an attached photo of the original letter Lowell sent dated 13 April. I sent a cca request on the 25th April. We then received a letter dated 27th April from Lowell which was obviously sent before they received the cca request. Well we haven't had any letters since this last letter so Lowell have not complied with the request. Where would we go from here. Many thanks

                              Hi,

The usual Lowell " begging " letters none of which have any merit if Lowell
has not complied with a CCA request, without the agreement the debt remais
unenforceable until an agreement is provided.
