  • What's my rights on getting calls stopped

    Hi

i have been getting bombarded by calls asking for someone who is clearly not me. I have told them this and asked for my number to be removed. They say they cannot remove it as the phone belongs to the person they are calling err I think not its mine!!
What can I do to stop these calls?
They call loads of times a day all hours relentless!
i have asked for the number and calls to stop and they won't is this against my rights on harrasment?
dont want to change my number because of some idiot company.
please help at the end of my string with it.
when I ask who they are they just say UB I have researched the phone numbers and they all relate to a company called uncle buck.

Firstly ... are you registered with the TPS? http://www.tpsonline.org.uk/tps/index.html
We are the Telephone Preference ServiceThe Telephone Preference Service (TPS) is a free service. It is the official central opt out register on which you can record your preference not to receive unsolicited sales or marketing calls. It is a legal requirement that all organisations (including charities, voluntary organisations and political parties) do not make such calls to numbers registered on the TPS unless they have your consent to do so.
Organisations with which you have an ongoing relationship, for example those who regard you as a customer, (or in the case of charities - a donor) may well gather your consent during the early stages of your relationship with them and will therefore be entitled to call you even if your number is registered on TPS, unless you have previously told them specifically that you object to them calling you for marketing purposes.
The TPS can accept the registration of mobile telephone numbers, however it is important to note that this will prevent the receipt of marketing voice calls but not SMS (text) messages. If you wish to stop receiving SMS marketing messages, please send an 'opt-out' request to the company involved.
As TPS registration only prevents marketing calls, organisations will still be able to call you for the purposes of genuine market research.
What's the telephone number of "UB"? If it's "Uncle Buck" that seems to be a payday loan company? ... if you have no debt with them, you could contact their head office and request your telephone number be taken off their database ( info@unclebuck.tv ).
Debt is like any other trap, easy enough to get into, but hard enough to get out of.

It doesn't matter where your journey begins, so long as you begin it...

UB is a "trading style" of Digitonmy Chester may be worth cutting out the phone jockey and heading to the top with a complaint.
Could your phone No. be a recycled one?
