  • Jacobs fees

    Hi!

To cut a long story short, husband got a parking ticket from Warrington BC in May 2013, forgot to pay resulting in it being sent to Jacobs.
He finally paid the outstanding debt direct to the council (by basically giving them the cash with a covering letter and walking away as they were refusing to accept it).
We have since had a few hand delivered letters from Jacobs threatening action unless payment of £310.00 is made.
They visited our property at 8.45 am yesterday and posted a 24hrs notice, and have been back this morning at 8.40am and posted a "REMOVAL 5PM" notice.
I am a little concerned about this situation, and any advice would be appreciated.

    Many thanks in advance,

    Royalie.

Do not under any circumstances let them in. If you have any vehicles make sure they are not located at the property and parked elsewhere.

I am sure someone else will be along shortly to advise further

Hello Royalie, the reason the Council would not accept the payment was because the debt had already been passed to the Enforcement agency, at the initial extra cost of £75, but your husband decided that he would do his own thing, leave the cash in an envelope at the Council and now he has incurred a further £235.00 for an Enforcenebt Agent sent out to collect the first £75

Unfortunately for your husband, when he left the cash at the Council Offices, he should have realised/known that the Council would send £75 to the Agency, therefore he still owes on the original debt.
The Black rat (Rattus rattus) is a common (hence the accusation of being Pleb) long-tailed rodent of the genus Rattus (rats) in the subfamily Murinae (murine rodents). The species originated in tropical Asia and spread through the Near East in Roman times (another thing that we ought to thanks the Romans for, besides roads, aqueducts and public toilets) before reaching Europe by the 1st century and spreading with Europeans across the world.

A mutation of the beast now comes black leather clad, riding a motorcycle that looks like a battenbergh cake on wheels.

A skilled predator, totally ruthless with it's prey, but also known to be extremely generous in doling out tickes that can provide points for motorists who want to downsize from mechanically propelled vehicles to bycicles.

It's a dirty job, but someone got to do it!

My opinions are free to anyone who wishes to make them theirs, but please be advised that my opinions might change without warning once more true facts are ascertained
