  • Is this a trick?

Just received a very strange letter from crapquest.

It says they have decided to close this account and are no longer seeking to pursue through the courts and all legal action has been stopped.

Creditreference agencies have been instructed to remove the default from your credit file.

Is this a ploy to contact them to find out what they are talking about and catch me out.

I have too many debts and have no idea what this is.

    Anyone else had something similar?

Well it sounds good, but without you knowing what it is for then it's a bit odd. Do you have any court action or preaction letters from CapQuest to help you link it up ?

I haven't heard from capquest in years, but my debts do the round of sharks.

Me thinks its a trap, none of the agencies have my no. so may be a way of getting me to call them.

Couple of things going through my mind, I may have a debt nearing the 6 year mark and they want to start the clock again.

Very strange, bit like the Police telling people they won a prize, so they turn up and go straight to court for unpaid fines.

Just wondered if anyone had this.

I've got no money, so I just keep all letters, no point in me talking to them.

I'm sure you heard the old saying "If it's too good to be true, etc"

        Ok ,
looking through my accounts and found this one.

It was for a barclaycard acc bought by crapquest default amount £2500.

They had issued a county court claim without any paperwork having stated they had it.

Claim was stayed while they attempted to find the paperwork.

They have now decided to drop the case.

Should I now make a complaint that they issued a claim stating they had paperwork that they didn't have or should I not provoke trouble and forget it.

            Thanks,
            that's what I'm thinking.

Although £2500 is a drop in the ocean to the £70000 I still have to deal with.

                Thanks Bassa,

I'm living on the edge, but will be a big problem when the mortgage rate rises.

Couple of debts getting near the 6 year mark.

I'm retired now and luckily can't get any more credit (debt).
