  • Lowells - Money Shop

Hi all just after some advice regarding the above. Just received a text from them asking me to contact them - I know they should never be contacted by phone but last week they wrote off a debt to 3 for mobile broadband which I had contested due to never having any dealing with 3 so assumed it was to do with this unfortunately not.

Apparently there is a £250 debt to the Money Shop outstanding on a payday loan. They have alot of wrong information relating to this debt. Firstly I am 99% sure I had no dealings with Money Shop when they are suggesting (Feb 2010) my marriage broke down the previous month so events around that time are fairly easy to recall. Secondly the file they have an address linked to me where I have never lived also they have totally incorrect employment details. Finally the address they say the loan was taken out against I wasn't living at at that time (had moved out a few months previously)

Just wondering how I should now approach this any advice greatly appreciated

Should say the conversation was left with Lowells putting the account on hold and going back to Moneyshop to discuss

Also they used the name dollar financial this rang a bell as around 18 months ago someone from another agency (cant remember name but remember them being based in Scotland possibly Glasgow) turned up at my address I contacted them over the phone said I had nevet heard of dollar financial (which I hadn't) and not heard anything since until today. Apparently it was set-up with a cheque I remember being with ThinkBanking at time who don't provide cheque books and I know I have never written a cheque in my life. Sorry for more updates just remembering more as I'm working

Have they actually written to you or just sent you a text? :cell:

Where did you get all the info you provided above from, was it from Lowell or is it on your credit file?

If they've written to you, I'd be inclined to send them a prove it letter, :typing: however, if they've just sent you texts, I'd just wait for them to send you a letter and ignore the texts. I did that with Akinika who were texting several times a day and they went on their merry way. :bolt:

          Re: Lowells - Money Shop

Hi thanks for replying. All information I have lister was provided by Lowell. I have had no written correspondence from them regarding this account only a text. Only letter I have had is regarding the 3 account I mentioned. They asked for my e-mail address etc which matched what they have on the system but having been using it only for a couple of years I told them they have my details from the discussion about 3 as that was the first dealings with them I had and that "debt" was written off.

As I say account is apparently on hold so will wait and see what happens

          Thanks again

If you believe that this PDL is a case of ID theft and fraudulent application make a Formal Complaint to Ms Sara de Tute director of legal and compliance at the Lowell Group.

It would be wise to check your credit files for linked addresses and any other accounts that may be doubtful.

Noddle (Call Credit ) is free Equifax and Experian have 30 day free trials.

Thanks for that it's something I can get onto tonight. Is there a draft available anywhere I could use as a template?
