Niece and Nephews power of attorney for their Mother in care home-charges/fees.

    Please inform the insurance co asap about the house as if anyhting happens and you have not informed them they wont pay out.
    Ask about any rules they have such as visiting the property on a regular basis, and gas aec turned off.

      s20(3) of the Mental Capacity Act says a deputy cannot be given power to "settle" (i.e. dispose of) P's property,, so as I thought, you need the specific authority of the court (which I am sure will be forthcoming in the circumstances you describe, but it is another application and potentially further expense if you can't navigate through the process).

        Look as if "Unc" will have to start brushing up on how to do it then to try save a bit of cost. Thanks for the info stevemLS.
