Glad my CTC payment date is on a Wednesday so not affected. My Child Benefit's on a Monday will be a bit skewey but that's helpful coming Christmas Eve though means I'll spend it on the wrong things and be skint the first week of Jan but hey ho, swings and roundabouts.

Is Monday 5th Jan a bank holiday ?? No it isn't...not sure why that's arsed up then.,

      25 December Thursday Christmas Day
      26 December Friday Boxing Day
1 January Thursday New Year’s Day
      3 April Friday Good Friday

I think this maybe a little misleading, I am due a payment on the 29th of December and although it will be issued earlier the payment will still only be in my account by the 29th It wont be there on the 24th as you have implied.

Payment due date When you’ll be paid
              24, 25, 26 December 2014 24 December
              1 January 2015 31 December 2014

              2 January 2015 (Scotland only) 31 December 2014

It differs slightly for things like JSA and DLA etc, the first post is for Tax Credits. I'll make sure that is clear.

Yes JSA payments due 25 or 26th will be paid on 24th, Payments due on 29th will be paid on 29th.

Tax Credits payments due 25th, 26th or 29th will be paid on 24th - no idea why they are different, just to confuse us lol.

HMRC & DWP are totally unable to communicate with each other and incapable of any synchronised actions.

Although the Society makes funds available to allow you to withdraw against cheques on these dates this does not mean that the
cheque has fully cleared for ‘certainty’. Cheques can be returned unpaid (for example, if the person who gave you the cheque has
insufficient money in their account) and if so can be removed from your account up until 11:59pm on the 6th working day following
                      the day of deposit.
