    Hi Daryle,

I will post up your message in the Bailiff forum and send you a link to the post, from there you should receive more advice.

My first thoughts are that you should contact Marstons directly and inform them of your disability status, also contact TV Licensing & the Courts. More knowledgeable members will be able to advise you better in the forum
Any opinions I give are my own. Any advice I give is without liability. If you are unsure, please seek qualified legal advice.

Have Marstons delivered any letters (A Notice of Enforcement etc...)?
Have they given you 7 clear days notice of attendance (I believe they have to do this for court fines too)?
Have you contacted the court (or Marstons) to ask if you can pay the missed payment (and possibly your next one too) so you are up to date?
Did the court base payments on an Income and Expenditure sheet (so they are affordable)?
Have you spoken to your local MP or a CAB advisor?

He needs to inform Marstons & Court of vulnerability issues & most important needs to provide proof of same - for medical issues a letter or similar from a medical professional, for Benefits a copy of the Award notice. Need more info to do more.

          Did he attend Court?
Did he know about the case?
          Was he means tested?
Was the address for the fine his own?

Re: Marstons Bailiffs TV Licence Disabled status please help

If the OP was not informed of any hearing and/or did not receive a summons or formal notice of the matter going to court, the proceedings, fine and any enforcement action that has followed will be brought into question. Capita/TV Licensing have been found, in the past, to have secured convictions by this method and some of their employees are currently languishing in one or more of H.M. Holiday Camps or cleaning graffiti off walls whilst wearing a fashionable hi-viz vest with COMMUNITY PAYBACK emblazoned across the back of it.
Life is a journey on which we all travel, sometimes together, but never alone.
