  • jacobs, removal notice in 24 hours.

    hi newbie here,
i am in receipt of an enforcement notice from jacobs wich was given to me today.
it is for the sum of 422.00.
it says in big red font "removal 24 hours"

    now a little background.

i am 57, disabled and on some serious meds.

i forget things and need reminding to do things.
i have my blue badge for my mobility car.

now , i parked in a bay in burnley which was signposted disabled for all intents and purposes i could tell. the sign was just a cars length in front of me. there were no yellow or white demarcation markings on the ground, just a row of silver studs which i thought were fr partially sighted people tbh.

i received a ticket for parking in a loading bay.

the sign for this was way way behind me at least three car lengths away, nothing on the ground either to indicate this.

anyway i thought i'd challenged it, as i have done before and won.

but today i receive this notice from jacobs.

i am not the best at memory or organisation nowadays due to these meds and my illness.

what can i do now?? i still have the scene photos i thought i'd sent to the council.
it has since been modified with the signs i believe as many blue badge holders were being hit by this terrible signage.

    what are my options now?/
there is no way i ca npay 422.00 if my life depended on it.

Re: jacobs, removal notice in 24 hours.

i dont recall any correspondence until today. i have had no previous visits from them. this is the first..

the original parking fine i thought i had challenged. my bad there i suppose.

i spoke to a parking warden one day directly opposite where i was ticketed and showed him a car in the same spot as mine and he said it wasnt on his side of the street and he wouldnt bother anyway as it was a badly signed bay.
this has since been changed i think.

Ok - can you post up the letter from Jacobs?? (or type it out)
Is it headed 'Notice of Enforcement'??
        Was it posted or hand-delivered??

There are lots of debates over the meaning of vulnerability in regards bailiff action - personally I would say "yes" you should be classed as vulnerable as you are disabled

That works fine, have added screenshot to your post for ease, and taken off your car reg etc.

They cannot enter your house by force or through any means other than a usual method of entry (so no climbing through windows etc...). If you have never allowed them into your house to place a levy on goods, and you do not allow them entry, then they cannot take anything from inside

They cannot force entry to sheds etc... either (as far as I know) so I'd say as long as it's locked you would have no need to worry about your tools :tinysmile_twink_t2:
