Re: baliff action pending for sisters estranged husband-help

Katie & ploddertom, thank you so much for your help and guidance on this. I will ring the court tomorrow and see if they will talk to me, I have e mail your advice to my sister so she can have a good read and then when she is back from work tomorrow night I will talk her through it so she knows what she has to do. Once again thank you for you help, will get back in the next 24 hours to update you all.

Re: baliff action pending for sisters estranged husband-help

I have just got hold of a copy letter from Slough council tax department addressed to my sister granting her single occupancy discount of 25% from January 2009. Would that be proof enough that she is the only adult living at the property?

It should be .... I'd say it's worth sending a copy off (to strengthen your argument) :tinysmile_twink_t2:

Re: baliff action pending for sisters estranged husband-help

Yipeee..... Spoke to the court just now told them that he had not lived there since 2009. Gave them ALL his contact information from the internet searches with phone numbers and addresses and informed them that the electoral role showes him no longer living at the address and so does the council tax register. They accepted it all thanked me for the information and said action against that address has been stopped and my sister will NOT be bothered by Marston. I am now going to cover us by confirming everything in an e mail including copies of the council tax letter, with a copy to my sister for her tp produce should anything else crop up, I will also post it to them.
I would like to express mine and my sisters extreme thanks to all who have helped and advised us.:clap2:
          Best wishes

One thing to be aware of for a little while is that Marstons may operate the "me know nothing" syndrome. If you can get a back up from the Court all well & good & if so forward a copy to Marstons.

true ... maybe include Marstons as a recipient of your 'follow up' email, then they have to accept they know :tinysmile_twink_t2:

Re: baliff action pending for sisters estranged husband-help

Marston must be reading this thread, they have just confirmed by e mail and said "we can confirm that we have updated our system accordingly.
Thank you for your assistance in this matter." The court office did say there was some notes on the file from the bailiffs but didn't tell me what they said.

E mail done to the courts confirming our conversation this morning asking them to confirm what was said. Once all replies are in place I will print them off and put them into a file and pass to sister for her safe keeping, just in case. I have also instructed her to not be nice and keep his post etc but to return to sender in the future and to cut the ties before she is stitched up again by him-do I sound angry with him?

That's great - at least you know for sure they won't be visiting your sister now :tinysmile_twink_t2:

good idea ... it's always best to keep things like this for a while to make sure they stick to it!

                    - you could also suggest she informs any bailiff firms/DCAs that are trying to contact him (if there's a return address on any envelopes) that he is no longer resident (same as with Marstons)??
