  • collecticas visit

Hello, today my wife had a visit from a collectica representative. We were not home when he called and he left the attached letter.
Am i right in thinking collectica are run by Marstons, its just that the representative is a person that called a couple of years ago working for marstens.
The outstanding money is for a fine issued by the courts for our childs school attendance, i'm expecting the same visit in the near future.
When my wife was being hounded by Marstons before, we basically ignored them, and a little later we had a letter from the courts asking to pay the original fine, plus an extra charge for late paying, which we promptly paid and nothing else was heard of it.
Wife has rang the representative, but he is just saying what i expected, payment in full or he will be back at 6pm to remove goods (which will not be happening).
My initial feeling is to wait to hear from the courts again and then either make payment or can we pay the courts now, collectica will be getting ignored

Why are you having problems with your child's school attendance?? Have you though about Home Schooling http://www.hullcc.gov.uk/portal/page..._schema=PORTAL (no fines for non-attendance if they are being taught adequately)??

Yep, Collectica are now part of the Marston Group: http://www.ccrmagazine.com/index.php...1547&Itemid=33

Marston Holdings has acquired enforcement business Collectica from Serco. Collectica, which has over 240 staff and self-employed agents, recovers unpaid court fines on behalf of HMCTS and has long-standing relationships with a number of local authorities.
Collectica will continue to operate as a standalone entity and the management team is staying with the business. It will now have access to additional investment in IT, as well as tracing and investigation resource. This investment is expected to underpin further collection rate increases for its clients.

Marston Holdings is a judicial services investment company that also owns Rossendales, Marston Group and Swift Credit Services. Marston Holdings has a well-respected independent Advisory Group, chaired by former Parliamentary Commissioner for Standards, Elizabeth Filkin, which will now also oversee Collectica.

Update on this one, the representative did not return that day. The original joint fine of £130 was actually paid online a momnth ago, but the transaction never made it to the fines dept, bank investigated and today returned the money to our account, god knows where it went. Wife went to the fines office, who do not actually handle fine cases (offices in hull), explained what happened and the lady there said to wait until it is returned to them from collectica (it will be), then pay it to them, the lady also mentioned there have been many, many complaints about this company
