    Re: Payday Loan CCJ

They brought it themselves. I thought it said earlier in this thread that Philip Valler had left the company in April 2013?

He still seems to be linked to them - just thought he might have an idea who to speak to to get this sorted out.

Thanks for that. Can you send private messages on Linkedin? I'm guessing that's the only way for me to get in touch with him.

          Re: Payday Loan CCJ

You can but they have to connect first, I requested ages ago but don't think he uses it.

          Can't see him anywhere else.

There must be some system for dealing with CCJ's when companies have gone under - maybe speak with the court (Northampton ccbc presumably) and find out who they have on record as contact/payment for the judgment - could just have been their own litigation department though which won't help a lot.

Still registered at 16 QUAY STREET, NEWPORT, ISLE OF WIGHT, PO30 5BG

someone clever might pop along who knows what to do with CCJ's where the company has gone under, other than trying to get in touch with someone from the company, I can only think give the court a call and ask them what to do.

                  Re: Payday Loan CCJ

I actually managed to contact Tower Capital and was assured that I had in fact paid off the debt back in 2009. Lettings agency say I have to get my credit report updated before we can proceed so just trying to find the quickest way to do that now.

                    Excellent.

How did you manage to contact Tower Capital ? The info might serve to help others in the future.

Tower Capital need to confirm to the court that the CCJ was satisfied and the Court can then mark it as such which will update the register entry that shows on your credit file.

                    ''
                    • Paying the CCJ later You can get a certificate of satisfaction, in which case the CCJ is marked as satisfied on the register (but stays on it). Anyone who checks it will know that you have paid what you owe. ''

I wrote to admin@towercapital.co.uk and had a reply from Martin Townend who confirmed that the debt had been paid.

                        Re: Payday Loan CCJ

Is there any way that anybody knows about of speeding up the process? I need this updated on my credit file quickly and I know it can take weeks to be processed by the courts. It is quite frustrating as the only problem the letting agency have with me is the CCJ and I have proved to them that it has been paid but they are unwilling to progress any further until it has been updated on my credit file.

Will the landlord/letting agent accept the email from Martin as evidence it has been paid? Ahh no. I think you can pay for a certificate of satisfaction for £35 ( from memory) if you show the court evidence it has been paid. Ring the court/trust online and ask them.

                          Ah here....

                          23 -
How do I get my County Court judgment held on the England and Wales Register marked as satisfied? From 6th April 2006 when the court are provided with evidence that a judgment debt has been paid in full, that court should notify us to amend the register. When the debt has been repaid outside one calendar month of the judgment date the register will show the entry as "satisfied". You may also apply in writing to the relevant court for a Certificate of Satisfaction enclosing:
                          a) evidence that the debt has been fully repaid,
                          b) a statement advising that reasonable steps have been taken to obtain such evidence but you have been unable to do so; or
                          c) a statement advising that you believe the evidence of payment is already held at the court; and
the court fee of £15 (cheque payable to HMCTS)

Thanks for that. Unfortunately the lettings agency will not accept Martin's e mail alone. Apparently they need the referencing company they use to be able to pass me on the credit check which they have said they will only do if the CCJ is marked as satisfied. Martin has said he will notify the court and I will try and get in touch with the court myself this morning. I'm just worried because everything I have read seems to indicate it is a pretty time consuming process and I really need to get it sorted immediately.
