Forgot to sorn car please help

Hi peeps

please help

My cars road tax ran out on 31st may I received a renual letter but left it at that as I have another car.. Them received a letter saying to either sorn and left that.. Then received a fine and I payed that which was £55 and totally forgot to sorn.. Then today received a letter stating me to attend court and a fine up £1000 and legal fees off £110+.. I ran up dvla and sorned the car straight away.

what happens now with the court?do I plead guilty or not guilty?

I honestly totally forgot to sorn..

whats ta my best course of action please help
