    Help!!

my Daughter and 19 other post grad students have been accepted onto a pgce course starting 09/14 at a well established dance school affiliated to a long standing university.
It is not a new course. they have all applied for student finance.
Student Finance england have sent them written offers of the finance available to them which they have signed and returned.
They have all prepared for their early start in 08/14 many of them having handed in their notice to their present employers.
Student Finance without any formal notification to them have changed their on line status to Not eligible for finance.
The course co ordinator was unaware of this. Student Finance England say they are on instruction from BIS and have no further info. BIS will not talk to the students.
Does anyone know if student finance are legally bound by their written offer please?

Can you tell us the name of the dance school and university - might help looking into this and why funding has been withdrawn.

        Re: student finance offer withdrawn

        Hi and Welcome.
Unsettling for the students to say the least.
Basically contract offers can be withdrawn at any time before acceptance.
However the withdrawal of an offer must be communicated to the offeree.
If the students have signed and returned their offers before being advised (and changing on line would probably not be sufficient) about the withdrawal I would think they have a chance of pushing for the offer to be honoured.
BUT it might depend on the wording of the offer.
