does this mean that a contract with trades gateway signed before these dates are also nil and void?

            ( 14 Jan 2017 Compulsory strike-off action has been discontinued )

the contracts issue would be if you signed a finance agreement with a company that was unauthorised at the time you signed it - Bright Sparks used CF4TS and credit through Marlborough - so check what it actually says regarding the finance of the course. Actually if you could post a copy of the contract that would be best (remove name etc) - it should say Regulated under the Consumer Credit Act 1974 at the top if it is a regulated agreement ?

Trades Gateway used the same finance company and I signed on 11th March 2016, the training agreement number and finance agreement number do not match on the credit agreement and they don't show on my credit report, the course is simply impossible for someone who is already working to complete as most of it requires work experience to complete, what do they expect you to do leave your job and stop supporting your family?

trades gateway used same company I signed March 2016 which would probably put me in a position to declare the agreement nil and void I will check this out

Okay I thought that's what you meant but best to check.

Did you receive anything from them before October last year regarding the card payments ?

CF4TS were still allowed to enter into agreements before July 15th 2016 and can still collect payments for those agreements.

I'm not sure what grounds you had for thinking this

could you explain for me so I can check it out.

Marlborough ( t/as BrightSparks ) were also still authorised in March 2016 - they lost their licence July 2016.

both trades gateway and cf4ts don't have licences anymore but I signed before I'm thinking it was revoked because of all the complaints, I've made and official complaint about the specific person who signed me up for finance been licenced to do so in my home not the company, also that the course is not fit for purpose it takes far longer than 18 months you can't do it while your working because you eventually need to get work experience in order to complete the course which would mean leaving your actual job and there is a time limit of 42 months which is not told to the customers there told you do it in your own time no matter how long that is, the qualifications also just give ability to do the job not the practical experience this would not get anybody a job earning 35 thousand a year more like 15 to 20 for first 2 to 5 years then wages would get better, lots of lies and half of these are advertised on Internet or Facebook, at the moment I have financial ombudsman investigating and I have informed both companies they won't receive anymore payments from me, neither have replied.

Good evening, I am currently in a jam with Trades gateway and CF4TS ltd. Is this the appropriate thread to ask for help? I don't want to 'Hijack' a thread if it isn't.

                          Thanks

                              Thanks Amythyst

A Trades Gateway rep came to our home in June 2016 and sold the dream of being an Electrician to my husband. We were given all the patter and clearly several times that my husband could back out of the course and stop paying by writing to them at any point. I questioned this and was told that he would not be refunded the appropriate portion of fees paid (depending on how many modules in he was) but could stop making further payments. The rep came back a few days later and My husband signed a document headed 'Fixed Sum Loan Agreement regulated by the Consumer Credit Act 1974 (as amended) of which I have a green and a pink copy
Clearly it was all lies as I called them up today and requested a copy of their cancellations policy. I was told there isn't one. Only the 24 day (lord knows where this figure came from) cooling off period. The lady I spoke to said that the only way out is in extreme circumstances. I asked for an example and she said if he had a critical illness or was moving to another country. Then she mumbled a lot and sounded like she wished she hadn't said it.

We are really struggling to make the £125 per month payments and the course is not as we were told (no support and it seems the qualifications don't fulfil employers requirements anyway).

So, to cut a long story short we want out! I realise we aren't likely to be refunded anything but what would be our best way forward? Is playing nicely a waste of time? Do are threats of ombudsmen really going to shake these guys? They seem to be incredibly good at this scam.

Would be grateful for any help you could offer

Hi everybody, please check that the credit/loan agreement number matches the course agreement number these should be the same as far as my agreement is concerned, contacted cf4ts today quoting reference on agreement and they have no record of it only the course agreement number this makes my agreement financially unenforceable as far as the credit act 1974 is concerned, I hope this helps some of you in will be getting a full refund before I give up on this even if I have to get the fca or financial ombudsman involved
