OK ... Got them

I'll post them up on here (redacted) for the other Beagles to look at, but I think you can cancel the course using the terms on the back of the registration form

      Front:

      Back:

There is a cancellation strip on the bottom of the page. You need to fill it in and send it to the address (Cancellations, Bright Sparks Welding, PO Box 563, Hampden, AL5 9GX). Your registration number is on the front of the form (needs to be put on the cancellation form) and the date needed would be todays. If you can, I'd suggest sending it recorded/signed for (proof of postage/delivery).

You could also email them with the details asked for on the cancellation form (name, address, date of registration and your reg. number) ... their email address is cancellations@brightsparkswelding.co.uk. Either save your sent email or ask for a read receipt or acknowledgement

I'm sure you would be able to get a "chargeback" from the bank for the £50 deposit you paid (if they don't refund it when you cancel) ... although Amethyst or mystery1 should be able to tell you more about that

Thanks, I wasn't sure how easy it would be to cancel but will send these off right away and hopefully it can be cancelled before the loan is processed.

          I appreciate the help!

If you do send the form to them as well as emailing ( which is probably safest to do both ) send it by signed for post, and keep a copy.

Brightsparks Welding was incorporated on 5 December 2014 and obviously ( according to their paperwork) the same company as Marlborough Information Services.

The documentation you have isn't a credit agreement, unless there's another document ? The green form does state you confirm you have received a copy of the credit agreement. If you have you should contact the company that is with as well and inform them you are not proceeding - just as back up.

I've a feeling the credit agreement will be via "Career Finance 4 Trade Skills" (top right of the registration form - post #173 - has CF4TS there)

@eqeqeq did you get any other documentation yesterday? A credit agreement should have the total amount 'owed' and a breakdown of your monthly payments etc...

Hi, sorry for the late reply on this. I sent my cancellation notice on Monday recorded delivery, it was delivered and signed for on Tuesday.

I called them on wednesday to confirm receipt (as I also emailed them last week and have had no response), but the advisor told me that because I wasn't registered yet they couldnt process the cancellation and that I should call back on the afternoon of the 15th ( this seems strangely specific to me, and what a coincidence, is also exactly after the 14 day notice period ends).

What should I do in this case? Can they simply refuse to process my cancellation? If it goes past the 14 day period do I then have to prove that I cancelled it before that time?

They also advised that the £50 would be refunded once the cancellation was processed which was some good news.

Kati - I didn't received any extra paperwork, the course rep said I would receive the breakdown etc. in about 3 weeks

You have the proof of cancellation (if needed) in the registered/signed for postal receipt! If you can ... go back on to the Royal Mail site and get a screenshot
Personally, I'd give them to the 15th and then ring back

No that was all i have received in terms of a "contract".

You said in your first post that you are waiting for Trading Standards to get back to you regarding a complaint (via CAB and Consumer Finance). Have you got a copy of the complaint you could email me (kati@legalbeagles.info)? Or any correspondence from CAB or Con. Finance?

They (Con. Finance) told you to cancel your DD with Carnige (and on looking into it further, you found no mention of a credit agreement on your CRA file)?

How long ago did you sign up? Credit Files are updated once a month (I believe) ... so you'd think there would be something on there :noidea:.

                            Hi Kati

I've been going through this since October 2014. There is no evidence of this on my credit file either.... The debt collection company have been phoning me daily threatening me with bailiffs. If it isn't a legit finance company, would they be backed in a court? Do you know much about CF4TS?? They passed it on to a company called DRS after only 2 months of me cancelling my direct debit.... And DRS have now passed it on to another recovery company after 6 months of me ignoring them... 😳😳

I signed up in October 2014. Same as you all started off ok, fired through 4 TMA's. Then it got down to the online practical assessments, I had trouble sending my work, had to message trades gateway numerous times and they informed different ways to install the disk etc. After doing the assessment 3 or 4 times and unsuccessfully, wasting around 20 hours of my time, submitting my work to them I gave up. I complained to them, they just kept telling me to try different things to install the disk. I gave up on the course and tried to cancel. They weren't interested. Then I found this site, seen people having same problem as me with online practical assessments, feedback was it was a prehistoric grossly outdated program which didn't surprise me. But that's by the by. My issue also was that I wasn't made aware that I was entering a credit agreement, I was led to believe it was a pay as you learn type agreement. Career skills 4 finance have since sold the debt to a debt recovery group called DRS who are chasing me for £5400. I paid 2 months fees, £270, which hasn't been took off the £5400, the company I got made redundant from pledged £1500 towards retraining which I have the invoice for as being paid, hasn't been taken off, so if I do owe anyone anything it's around £3630. But after the debt management company harassing me by mail and phone for 6 months, sending me letters saying debt collectors are coming to my house in next 4 weeks, they have now sold the debt to a 3rd debt/credit company who have this week sent me more letters saying I need to pay the £5400. Like you, I signed up to noodle.co.uk and there's no evidence of a credit agreement on my credit score. I believe they are crooks, their "credit agreements" wouldn't stand up in court and no one will get a penny from me...

Anyone else got these debt recovery companies chasing them?
                              Hi Hedgefun to LB

Did you receive any notice (letters) from CF4TS before your "debt" was passed on to DRS (and ... are DRS a group called Ardent Credit Services by the way)? Can you possibly email me (kati@legalbeagles.info) any letters you've received so I can start you a new thread, where you'll get more help from the Beagles in regards these "debt collectors"?

Sorry Kati but I do not have a email to send to you. I was so concerned at the time that all correspondence was done over the phone.

To answer your other question I signed up for the course in late January so yes you would think that their would be an agreement on there. However there isn't. Which is very suspicious as I have my phone contract on there that I Signed up for after I signed for Trades Gateway..

Hopefully I will hear back from Trading Standards soon!
